ICICI Bank NRI FD rates

NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary) rupee FDs are for funds earned in India; interest is taxable in India and TDS may apply. NRE (Non-Resident External) rupee FDs are for repatriable foreign earnings converted to rupees; interest is generally not taxed in India and there is typically no TDS on NRE interest. ICICI’s public notes also stress: senior citizen premia do not apply to NRI FDs, NRE minimum tenor is 1 year (up to 10 years), and NRO can usually be booked from 7 days upward. Minimum deposit is commonly ₹25,000 for NRI callable FDs with premature withdrawal.

Table below: less than ₹3 crore, with premature withdrawal, general (non-senior) rates as on the same public extract as above (24 April 2026). For callable rupee FDs on this slab, the published general figure is applied to NRO across all tenors shown; NRE uses the same tenor row where the product is offered (1 year and above). Non-callable, FCNR, and other amount bands may differ.

Who gets which rate (summary)

Premature withdrawal (ICICI-style summary)

If you break an FD early, interest is generally paid for the actual period the money stayed, using the rate that would have applied for that shorter tenor at the time of original booking, then adjusted for the bank’s penalty—not necessarily your full contracted rate. No interest is paid if a domestic or NRO deposit is withdrawn in full within 7 days; NRE has stricter rules for very short periods.

Less than 1 year 0.50% 0.50%

Frequently asked questions

What are ICICI Bank FD rates for 1 year?

On this snapshot, the band 1 year to < 18 months is 6.25% p.a. for general citizens and 6.75% p.a. for seniors. Your exact maturity date within the bucket still needs confirmation at booking.

How do I get the best ICICI FD rate?

Choose a tenor that matches your liquidity needs; longer tenors are not always higher. Compare payout modes (cumulative vs monthly) because the quoted card rate is often for annual / cumulative structures, while periodic payouts may be discounted.

Can I calculate maturity for these rates?

Yes — use our ICICI FD calculator and enter the percentage from the slab that matches your planned tenure.

How does ICICI compare to HDFC or SBI?

Large banks often move rates together, but tenor-wise differences exist. See our HDFC FD interest rate page and how banks set FD rates for context.
